London Photography Exhibit

Here‘s a PDF version of the invite and also here‘s a large invite with some of the photographs of the exhibit in it. If you are in London or know anyone who is there right now, do give them a shout and ask them to come by. There are more than 45 images on display and all of them are on sale too as a fundraiser for NCF. An international photography exhibition is a big thing for someone who is trying to do this as a living. This whole thing just would not have been possible without the generous support…

Wildscreen

The week long Wildscreen festival finally came to an end. I got a chance to meet all the gods of wildlife photography and film making in the world. They were all there and it was an amazing chance to just meet them in person. The festival is ofcourse is a great place to make lot of contacts and this means meeting people from National Geographic, BBC, Animal Planet etc. Even though I’m new to this world, it was still very exciting to meet them and exchange business cards. Will have to wait and see if that will translate to any…

At Wildscreen

I’ve been at Wildscreen Festival this whole week and last evening my long time dream came true. I finally met David Attenborough in person and even managed to show some of my photographs to him. Pretty much everyone related to wildlife in some way or the other is here and today is the last day of the festival. More soon …

Settled in Bristol

My first 3 days in UK have been good so far. Though people bitch a lot about London, it really is a nice city (atleast what little I’ve seen of it). Will be back there end of the month to spend few days, so hopefully will get to explore it a bit Been in Bristol the last two days. This is a very small lazy city and it has been raining since the time I have come here. So have not had any chance to explore the city and its night life. After many years, I’m sitting at a desk,…

Off to UK

Getting ready to fly to UK in few hours time. I just realised it has been more than 4 years since I’ve gone out of India (counting out my walk in Namdapha where I walked into Burma).I will be shuttling between London and Bristol. So if any of you are in and around that area, do give me a shout. I’m attending WildScreen and Wild Photos and also spending some time working with Icon Films and hopefully some time at BBC Natural history Unit. The main purpose of the trip is the India Biodiversity Photo Exhibit that I’m doing in…

Tiger from BR hills

I had made a quick trip to BR hills earlier this week and was fortunate to see a tiger in the night. Since I have been traveling mostly in the rain forests the last year or so, it has been almost 2 years since I’ve seen a tiger in the wild. The photograph and the sighting would not have been possible without Mandanna who was driving the vehicle and Giri Cavale who was spotlighting because of which both of them could not photograph. Hence the multiple copyrights on the image. Even though I have seen and photographed some very rare…

The Fetus Photograph

Since many people asked, here is the color version of the fetus image. Which one is better ? which one has a better impact ? This incident happened few months ago in the Anamalias. We heard news that a Lion-tailed macaque was hit on the road and we rushed to the spot. The image you see below was that. We took it to the local Valparai vet and when he was performing the post-mortem he found the fetus inside. Of course both the mother and fetus were dead. The doc put the fetus in a small plastic jar and thats…

Exhibit Photographs

The Chennai exhibit went really well. We had very good turnout from the Judiciary system and overall more than 700 people turned up during the course of the day. Most people came in during the first half of the day to attend the talks. Personally it was very nice to see my photographs, printed and framed and put in a spotlight. Being digital photographers, we tend to forget the special feeling of seeing the photographs in print. Here are some of the photographs Chief Justice of Tamil Nadu inaugurating the exhibit
