Speaking for Nature

Nature Conservation Foundation (NCF) is organising a very special event on conservation in Chennai. We are gathering the lawyers and judges of the state make them sit and understand the wildlife and the conservation issues. Since most of these issues are handled at court level, this is a very rare chance to sensitise the policy makers. Not that they do not know the issues, but are surely not aware of the field realities of what works and what does not. The leopard issue will surely be on top of the priority. The photo exhibit is a showcase of Tamil Nadu’s wildlife and also some of the conservation issues its facing.

This will hopefully also be a chance for NCF to do some fundraising to support their field research and on-ground conservation in a range of wildlife habitats, from coral reefs and tropical rainforests to the high Himalaya.

The morning session is for the judges only and its an invite only event. But if any of you want to come hear about the conservation landscape of South India, let me know and I can send you an invite for it. The exhibit will go on for rest of the day and there will be repeat of some of the talks at around 5pm in the evening.

The exhibit would not have been possible without the support of TRR associates and Geodesic.
