Back from Wildscreen

The event was excellent. Some of the worlds best wildlife editors/directors/script-writers were there.

The first highlight was Mike Salisbury. He is the guy who produced all the ‘Life’ series of David Attenborough and if David Attenborough was the face on the camera, he was the guy who was behind the camera all along. He agreed to get some stuff signed by David and mail it back to me when he gets back. He was so wonderful, I really wish he was my own grandfather.

Meeting Jane Goodall was something else. Her talk was so powerful, almost everyone in the audience broke down towards the end. Post event I luckily got to spend a lot of time with her talking to her about India, tribals, wildlife problems specific to India etc. She made me promise that I shall get involved in her Roots & Shoots program.

I’m sorry I did not have enough time to catch up with other in Delhi. Now back in town and back to work.

C-O-N-G-R-A-T-U-L-A-T-I-O-N-S Sir. Pls share some moments and photo of wildscreen with us. As per your suggestions I’ve taken Nikon D70s with 170-500mm sigma lens, it’s performance seems nice and recently I have been from bhimeswari. With my new baby I have captured grey hornbills and giant squirrel.

Sorry about this comment. If I see someone talking about wild-life and anything that goes along with those lines I can’t help but give my do paisa if it’s something I can relate to.

Jane Goodall. Well, have read alot of stuff about her and her work. you’re lucky. Great experience eh?

This is completely off the mark but Are you associated with “project tiger” as well?! or anything even remotely close to that? Any way, It’s good to see someone giving SO much of their time and warmth towards the work of wildlife. Good going.

I have nothing to do with Project Tiger. Thats a Large Gov of India thingy.. and in a way, maybe am glad I have nothing to do with it.

Whatever makes you say that..any way, afew of us are with project tiger. we had been to Ranthambore and Tadoba last year. Looks like you’re not much into our north indian forests to study them when the parks were closed for the tourists..

Later on surfed abit through your journal and boy was I stunned! I was working with an eco-tour organisation myself for 2yrs (as in I did volunteering during my year11t and year12!) so Ive been around to alot of places like Kanha, Corbett, Gir etc etc. But have never been to BR hills. Would love to visit sometime! the photos look beautiful. I esp. liked the curious mother and her cub pictures and of course, Kyatha. lol any way, sorry for this offload..I go mental on seeing such stuff. whether u like it or not, I’m going to keep in touch with you after seeing the amount of work you’re doing. hehe chao
