I have to get a anti-rabies shot today. All thank’s to this naughty rascal who decided to bite me after playing with me for an hour yesterday. This creature is the Indian Gerbil, a norturnal animal of the Indian forests.

An anti-rabies shot(s) is supposed to be no small ordeal, and carries a risk in itself. Best of luck with it. If you still have the gerbil, I would definitely have it tested to see if it is rabid, and only get the shots yourself if it is. From what I’ve heard, it’s not a big deal to test if an animal is rabid — you shouldn’t have to harm it except for poking it with a needle to draw a little blood. Anyway, if rabies shots are still what they were ten years ago, then you have a painful few days ahead. Get well soon!

The actual bite was small and I did not bleed either. So I think it’s pretty ok. I just want to be safe coz I play with monkey;s a lot too.
