Hectic lyfe
Things have been crazy since I’ve come back from the trip. No net access, broken car, lot of running around the town this week. Hopefully I will sit around and upload all my pics this weekend.
The trip itself was excellent. I got to photograph Oriental Bay Owl, which apparently has not been photographed by anyone till date (Subspecies from south India). Got to photograph another lovely and rare bird named Frogmouth. Trekked a lot and I’m still getting over all the leech & tick bites. The rains have been a letdown though. Where has the monsoon gone ?
Anyway here’s a picture to start off from the trip. Gives you the feel of the place.
Hi Kalyan,
Good that you managed to capture a couple of good photographs of rare birds. Annamalais & Parambikulam belt is one heck of place for Bird Watching. Need to visit there when time permits. Also was it deliberate that you had the subject in this photograph at the bottom of the snap…
By the by I intend to do a quick Bandipur, Mudumalai trip tomorrow and day after, are you there in BRT, may be I could drop some time..
One word
Wow.
When do you plan to pass by BRT? I was planning to do a quick trip there and come back by monday again
I was planning to start from Bangalore tomorrow morning at around 3:00 types. May be I could visit BRT and then move on to Bandipur & Mudumalai. should be back in bangalore by Sunday evening.

Sounds interesting
great picture….
What a beautiful picture. Have you read a book called Goedel,Bach, Escher, the Eternal Golden Braid? There is one of Escher’s woodcuts of a leaf, which this picture reminds me of, very much…
Long may your camera batteries last!
Nice photograph, excellent interplay of light with dew drops!
Rains
>>Trekked a lot and I’m still getting over all the leech & tick bites.
Had been to a trek near Virajpet and trust me .. it has rained nonstop for 2 days…
Monsoon in coorg is worth the experience. Coundnt really avoid the tick bites .. but rubbing salt over the leech helped.. but too bad we realised that much later.
>>The rains have been a letdown though. Where has the monsoon gone ?>>
*Grins
And ya .. you’ve been lucky coz u cudnt have taken those shots with rains lashing.
Brilliant
Excellent composition and lighting. Real yet surreal.
When I saw the pic. I thought of one thing..
“Raindrops can’t give life to the dried leave..”
