Tiger’s again
This morning while going on the safari, we caught a carcass of a large gaur (indian bison) only 20% eaten by a tiger. Unlike last time, this dead body is very close to the safari game track. I know the tiger will come back tonight to eat the rest, so right now the plan is to stay there all night in the forest and hope to film/shoot the tiger when it comes to eat the kill. However, I need a special permit to stay there past 7pm and been trying to get that all day today. Let’s hope I get it from the forest department and then things will be rocking 🙂
Too many good things happening here. Yesteday we got to see one tiger for few seconds and two leopards for a good 30 min. More updates tomorrow.
u rock dude :))
nice
kool …
hope u get permission .
cheers
wow!
hope u get the special permit and hey, do take care!!
neat..
And when you have time apart from all the exciting stuff – get me some contact in the bird rehab center. Summer is here we will have birds orphans and injuries…
where do you plan to setup? on a tree?
what if it prefers its food fresh?
surely the tiger will find you will be tastier than days old meat?
Whoa…. thats enticingly scary 🙂
I was imagining standing in front of the tiger , like one of the Ruskin Bond stories 🙂
I have seen some infrared cameras, and of course some very beautiful pics taken from those cameras… but surprisingly , the pics were not night vision pictures, but for more artistic versions. i wonder whats the real use of a infrared camera.
Just curious, but are man eating tigers all killed by the forest guards/officials?
hey there ,just went there again.Todays diet was more fruit , some beef and some electrol again.
Sent you an email id of one of the volunteers to your yahoo id.
Whoa!!! Thatz crazy beautiful… Careful Buddy…
Thanks a lot lady – I owe you one for this 🙂
Tiger’s again
Hi Kalyan,
Is it possible for a trek in your place, I checked at JRT Bandipur, I was told I should wait till about August for the trek, as the place is dry now (it was extremely dry when I had visited last week). Keep those blogs coming, the more I read your notes, the more I think of getting into wildlife photography actively
Eventually waited in a open jeep
Re: what if it prefers its food fresh?
Apperently tigers love rotten meat. The rotten meat is softer, easier to digest and very tasty for them.
Luckly as of now, there are no man eating tiger’s in south india. So it’s pretty safe.
Re: Tiger’s again
Come over and we can trek anytime here. Things are lot more green here compared to bandipur and we could leave early morning and come back by 9 – 10. It will be too hot after that.
