Gems of life

Every once in a while, you experience an event which will make you stop and makes you think about how beautiful things around you are. How you have been missing the gems of life in your everyday hectic schedule…

Last weekend was like that. I was in bandipur forest and on monday morning,
I saw a few hour old elephant baby taking its first steps in life.
I saw the baby searching for her mother breasts.
I saw the baby trying to figure out how to suck milk out of her mother,
I saw the baby lose balance,
I saw the mother lift her baby back on her feet with her trunk.
i saw the mother making sure she does not step on or hurt the baby in anyway.
I saw the mother protect her baby from me.
I saw the baby’s aunt come and greet her,
I saw the elephant family celebrate the event..

I saw it all. My heart fills up like a balloon that’s about to burst.

Don’t feel bad. They are very well treated. Infact they are let into the forest in the night. Infact right after I took the shots, they let the mother , the baby and the aunt into the jungle for some private time.

Thats when I had to leave the place as well

    dude, awesome pictures.
your emotion “I saw it all. My heart fills up like a balloon that’s about to burst.” reminded me of the final dialogue in American Beauty : “it’s hard to stay mad when there’s so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I’m seeing it all at once, and it’s too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that’s about to burst…” (C)Alan Ball

Try going to edamuri and balmuri. If you want to take really good snaps in midst of flowing water this is the place ….but dont go to spot where currents are strong , in middle of edamuri and balamuri there lies rocks where we can rest and I have gone there many times to enjoy pristene , smooth calm waters admidst beautiful natural scenes πŸ˜‰

Sigh i dont yet possess a digital camera πŸ™
