Dead holiday

Since I am moving to a new project, I thought I’d take this week off, chill out and do nothing at home as I have quite a bunch of holidays left over this year. I’m an hour into my 1st day of ‘vacation’ and I’m already bored. Sigh.

Watched the following movies over the weekend : The Terminal, Irreversible, 28 days later, The Manchurian Candidate, Seabiscuit

Now that piracy is legal in bangalore, my video shop guy is stacking himself up with a lots of good movies. 🙂

  10. gromhellscream · August 30, 2004 Reply

Hey… where exactly is this VCD chap? I live in HSR Layout too and I just know of some cheap place which doesn’t have most of what I’m looking for (must admint I haven’t really hunted much).

    Re: whoa…

The place where I get it from is a guy who is on the 9th Main.. near 6th/7th sector. I don;t know if you know the 17th cross/9th main intersection ( its near the almost ready BDA complex ).

From the intersection, go slightly up into the HSR layout and you will find it some 100m from this intersection on the 9th main itself.

I just renewed my membership at Talwalkar’s. Time go back to lifting the heavy weights. 🙂

Go now. They have a 20% discount on yearly membership till 10 Sept. I’ll help you push 300 pounds on the machines. 🙂

  33. admin · September 1, 2004 Reply

    I have a membership too 😉

Unfortunately I do not use it.. 🙁

  34. umang · September 2, 2004 Reply

    Thanks!
Will check it out this weekend.

  35. mannu · September 3, 2004 Reply

How much would a yearly membership cost, and for how long is the discount open? I want to join in November.

  36. themadman · September 3, 2004 Reply

They have an offer going till 10 Sept, where instead of Rs. 15000, you get the yearly membership at 12K (+8% service tax). So it’s a 20% discount. It probably won’t be around till Novembet (gosh, I sound like their salesman. 🙂

What you can probably do is pay for the membership now at the reduced rate, and ask them to start your membership only from November. I had done something like this a couple of years back.

  37. mannu · September 4, 2004 Reply

It’s still pretty costly, actually. The Talwalkars in Juhu, Mumbai, charges 9,000 for a yearly membership (6,000 for half-yearly). Anyway, I’ll check them out. There’s also one Talwalkars in Jaya Nagar.

  38. admin · September 4, 2004 Reply

I think they charge 10k/year for people who go from my company. I think you’ll be able to bargain them down to that easily
