Robbery Update

After whole day of running around the cops, managed to get hold of the CSI team of Bangalore police yesterday evening.

They are in pretty sad state… there is only one CSI team and they have 2 people who knows how to get fingerprints from a crime scene and each one of them take 24 hour long non-stop shifts. After attending to 6 other crime scenes, they came over to my place and got to work.

They carefully brushed both the cars ( insides and outsides ) with a very fine silver power ( I think its sodium nitrate ) and all the fingerprints came alive. Most of them were smudged but they managed to get them at 2 places in both the cars. They just paste a stationary tape on the fingerprint and paste it on a transparent plastic sheet. Apparently they scan those into a computer using the normal scanner and compare the prints with the prints in their database. According to them the database is quite huge with fingerprints of 75,000 criminals and some 500,000 citizens. They are confident , they can find the person.

I’ll just keep my fingers crossed.

Finding the guy is one thing…

getting your gear back is another. lets hope he/she has not disposed of the camera already. is there a chor bazaar in bangalore, by any chance?
Also try and look in the classifieds in the local newspapers for sometime. If a Nikon camera body comes up for sale, start making some visits with your friendly neighbourhood cop. BTW, if you noted down the serial number on the body, that would help prove that it’s your camera body, if its found.

Best of luck, dude. Who knows, with a little bit of detective work, and some luck, you could get it back.
