TV sucks on weekends

Is it just me or does weekend television really suck ? Decided to laze around and watch some TV all day and not even a single program/movie turned up. Ended up doing some work from home.

Took some pics with the camera. will post them up soon.

Watched “The last samurai” last night. Very good movie and the directors have managed to depict the samurai culture very well. (They could have done without the tom cruise long hair – it really does not fit in .. how does one fight with hair all over his face)

The Last Samurai was lovely. The battle scenes were unbelievably good.

Vikings..Barbarians had amazingly long hair. And they killed as hell!

Some of these heavy metal guitarists have such thick long hair too. And yet they can see the strings and play some wonderful stuff 😀

Hair isn’t really an issue I guess, for those who have some to spare 🙂

If you looked closely.. all the sumarai’s either have no hair or really long hair. The ones with long hair tie it up behing their head so that it does not obstruct their view or concentration.

Our man has his hair covering his eyes almost all the time.. i know its all the glamor but they could have done without it.

Otherwise.. yes its a lovely movie.

    TV sucks

I watch television once in a month, on an average. At home, my mom and bro had a monopoly on TV time, so I just gave up.

He wasn’t a samurai. He was a wannabe samurai. Remember in Braveheart? All of them let their hair loose and unkempt.

Being a girl with hair longer than Tom Cruise, and who has fought with her brother as a kid like a wannabe samurai, I know one can do it 😉 Can u argue that? 😛 Hehe

the folks in braveheart are messy fighters.. all of them pretty much use brute force.

Lets not get to the womens hair part. I have seen girls using their hair as an advantage in many places

Advantage? Ok that I didn’t quite get. So chuck it!

But come on, if the warriors in Braveheart were brutal, the Samurais weren’t all that genteel either. Remember all that chopping, slicing, dicing of heads and more with the sword smashing left, right and centre! And Cruise didn’t even have shoulder length hair…

This is a silly argument. So let’s stand by our respective theories! 🙂

    Re: TV sucks

You are talking of a two people monopoly, in my case its just dad, dad and dad.

So I followed your suit long time ago. Now there is peace at home. :))

Btw heavy metal guitarists don’t look at the strings really. Its like how after sometime one doesn’t have to look at the keyboard to type. You automatically know.Same goes with pianists.
But yeah I felt the same way about Tom Cruise’s hair.Considering that the rest of the Samurai’s had nice knots on top of their head. And the main dude was even bald. Those asian actors were awesome .And it totally went with the precision of the art of fighting.I mean these guys are almost cultured fighters .
I’m totally in love with the long haired dude.Droool..He looks a bit uncle like..but ..Droool..

Ok sorry that I’m reawakening this :D.
But brute force not equal to brutal.
For ex say a braveheart warrior or a viking will just take a club and go smash smash smash on the head. Thats brute force.
A samurai would have one clean slice at the the best place on the throat to decapitate over and done with.Thats brutal.

I bought one of those casio watches with IR Remote… and then it was a matter of who (me/sis)gets frustrated the earliest when the channel keeps changing randomly every few secs and gives up. Until then there was always a fight control of the real remote controls.(Had a complex setup at home with 4 different remote controls that could ruin your tv watching experience!)

Ofcourse parents could always come in and take control of everything at will.
