I remember seeing some kind of “test page” in hindi at google..maybe some beta sort of thing. So it seems they’ve launched the co.in version which was long due…

Hopefully computers and the internet will have more support for Indian languages

It’s useless. The results are by default the google.com’s ones.. unless u specify that u wanna search for indian pages…

and in a country like india where english is widely used, I dont see this as a major change.. ok if it was korea or japan, then it would make sense..

mark my words.. google.co.in is gonna go turkey ! 🙂

Of course, they haven’t put servers in India or anything:

    mrinal@nirvana ~ $ host www.google.co.in
    www.google.co.in CNAME www.google.com

I think its a brave move. I mean we havent seen any major website do this and from what I can see so far, they seem to have done a decent job out of it.

besides google has always been about trying new things 🙂

Okay, so Indians use english a lot.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could use more of our native language?
I mean, I tried out Indiatimes messengers hindi chat and it was a great experience. Of course, Indiatimes sucks, but it Yahoo! or MSN brought it out and it were decently good(and simple to use), it might catch on fast. …
Infact there is this guy who LJs in hindi!

    Search!

Photographs -> Search link is going back to the home page… And the ‘search the site’ feature at the bottom of the home page looks like it searches only tags!

The overall feel is good and it surely has improved since the last one. Wonderful work. Eager to see new photographs to be added.
