you’ve got mail

Way back in 1998 I got my 1st pop account, which was kalyan@pes.edu ( which still works btw ;)). That was also the time, when I used to check my mail in the unix box, without popping it off. I did not know anything , and hence started using the command line utility “mail” for everything. For couple of months, I used “mail”, to check mail, reply mails and store the emails. The my mbox started growing, and I realized I needed a better mail client. That’s when I tried pine, and got used to it right away. Also with pine, I started using fetchmail to check mail from my home linux machine.

FastForward 5 years, and I am still using the exact same client, without using any of the new functionality and features that came with it in all these years. People have asked me to move to mutt, but somehow never liked it all that much

But today I upgraded my pine to v4.50. Why you ask ? – Thread Support.
Something that was missing in pine all these years and something that the mutt users used to show off. Its kinda odd too take change after 5 straight years… but lets hope I get used to it. My mbox looks kinda alien right now 😀

Off the the SVLUG meet now..
