Went to Fountainhead over the weekend, and got hold of the latest issue of Wired mag. Came across this interesting article on bloggers, also the top 10 bloggers etc. Neat read. There is also a bet (Weblogs will outrank theNew York Times Web site by 2007) running on the Long bets foundation.

About Long bets Foundation :

The Long Bets Foundation, a new project masterminded by Well founder Stewart Brand and Wired editor at large Kevin Kelly, hopes to raise the quality of our collective foresight by incorporating money and accountability into the process of debate. The idea is simple. If someone makes a grandiose claim, any skeptic can challenge it – “Would you bet on that?” – and the Long Bets Foundation will keep tabs on the wager, whether it takes five years or five decades to come to pass. If proven right, a predictor can relish the victory; if wrong, the challenger gets the glory.

I think I will put some money too. how about this one ( The universe will eventually stop expanding )

    hmmm….

Two parties bet money on something that may happen waaaaayyyyy later? and the money is “kept safe” by the ppl who “manage” the bets?

Wow!! I’m gonna go create my own site that does just that!! Woohoo!! I have been struck by divine inspiration. In fact, I was probably put here on earth for this very purpose.

Dude, the money goes to charity ( The charity foundation chosen by the winner of the bet). Also they use the interest from the money to fund charity foundations again.
    So its win-win.
