For all the Riff wannabies.
We always keep reading stuff about how on the net people can find info about blow up buildings or how to grow marijuana. Came across The Anarchist’s Cookbook. There is also a link to The terrorists handbook. My friend raghav has joined LJ. Another great person and an amazing writer.
Lot of things came up today about Freedom of Speech and Privacy. check it out here. (me not making any comments;)
Oh, on‘s page, all his entries are dated in the year 2000. But Date created: 2002-04-17 10:48:58 on his userinfo page. What gives? Wanna ask him to file a bug report? (afaik, email support@livejournal.com with the bug description, or file a report on the online BTS)
Re: Sour indeed
I noticed that too.
BAsically if you are using a client , it picks up your local system time. I guess in his case , his system time got screwed
Re: Sour indeed
Haha, windows luzr setting old dates, because he wants to avoid virus attacks on whatever chernobyl day, or not wanting shareware to expire/die? *sheesh*
Re: Sour indeed
hahaha. I do that too. Have put stuff in autoexe.bat 😉
Re: Sour indeed
YEP that would more than qualify me as a WINDOZE (l)uzer ;), I still can’t make a total switch to being good buddys with Tux, tho we are aquainted on a reasonably level, whenever I miss something…I tend to go back WDoze, mostly games, MATLAB and other stuff which aren’t really available or b’coz cirsumstances have forced me to, the date I have changed it NOW, lemme see that would mean no 3DSM, no imazer,no…
BTW most hardcore Linux Users, the list of which doesn’t include me as of now, tend to *become* rather convert to being anti-windoze, and are really hostile when one *accidentally* mentions it. I’m a firm beleiver that open source is the way to go…but for starters lemme get my scanner, webcam, modem(has mind of its own)working under Linux then I’ll THE switch…
_spooky_
Re: Sour indeed
Many people classify me as a “hard-core” Linux user, and many of the lesser informed ones presume that this automatically classifies me as “anti-anything else”.
I wonder why.
Just because someone likes being male, does it mean that he is anti-female? 😉
I use Linux every day for everything I do. I do that because I like what Linux has to offer (and I use it for my scanner, webcam, winmodem, digital camera, cellphone, and every other device I own – that’s an easy thing to achieve when you are careful what you buy).
I like the stability, the usability and (despite the contention of certain individuals who shall go unnamed 😉 because it offers me a far more stable and productive desktop than Windows, with far richer and functional applications.
But I am not anti-anything just because I use Linux. In fact, I use Windows at home quite often for games (well, those that don’t run under Wine yet) and to understand Windows uses and users.
What you are possibly referring to are a few (misguided) individuals who believe that the only way Linux will grow is if everything else is killed. Not only is that illogical, it is stupid, and thankfully, most of the Linux world is *not* stupid.
(me not making any comments;)
I wonder why….
Re: Sour indeed
I couldn’t agree more…most ppl believe that being an avid Linux user, immediately qualifies u as anti-Wdoze and vice-versa i.e., Windows users are refered to as wotever, I have been tainted with remarks of this nature, before and am sure some will concur wimme on this…Using an OS I try to tell these mortals is like wearing an attire, u wear, what u feel good in(read as my choice), what think u need to wear to suit an ambience(function dependent choice), dress-code(forced choice, like in coll).
I made a mention of it b’coz v r using MATLAB for our project, a win appln, and my team(its members) are known for their choice of open source(esp after our pre ‘n post LB2k1 frevor) over whatever…the consequences u kun imply.
My comment was just a random thot…nothin more…
Re: Sour indeed
Same goes here. My bos is on FreeBSD now. I really like this OS. Does not mean , lost my love towards linux. I still use it at home, but not much. Same with windows. I fine Win2k pretty stable and an OS on which you can *actually* get some decent work done 😉
Re: Sour indeed
