Joe Satriani concert

The Joe Satriani concert in Bangalore today was simply amazing. He’s an amazing guy. No showbiz, no stage act, no fancy girls on stage. Just him and his guitar having fun on stage. It was also a nice change from all the regular ‘vocal’ artists that keep coming down here. If you have not heard his music, try it. You will like it.

    Nothing wrong!

Its just refreshing to listen to just guitars for a change. 🙂

Even if you’ve never heard Joe, you’ve probably heard him. He was well known in music circles long before he ever did an album of his own. He was a highly sought after session artist for years and years; a hired gun big name acts brought in for studio work.

Joe taught guitar for sometime, this was before he became a part of G3. Hearing him live at Bombay was really good. He played *Crying* from *Extremist*! It took me back to 1997, when I used my pocket money to buy a pirated copy of the album. Took me back home man!

    Satch concert…

Agree about the Satch concert… Was at the Mumbai one. Few fellas managed to take photos with him and get his autograph, around 6ish, though the show started at 7.
3 hours of great guitar work – always with me, always with you, up in the sky, house of bullets, cool 9, flames, boogie, time, karma, summer song, starry night, moroccan sunset(which had some awesome extended riffs), strange, locusts, searching, hands in air, love in space, psychomonkey, blue dream, surfing, going down, friends…
This was one night of slides and frets that i’ll never forget. hope they release a live performance DVD sometime.. as always, check out at satriani.com

Maybe next wait till steve vai, or yngwie malmsteen come here again. Crowd was pretty low, around 4000. I certainly was expecting more.

I liked the crowds. Only pure music lovers turned up, not the mtv addicts. Which meant lot of space to walk around, enjoy good music and have enough place to get close to him.

I heard Steve will be coming in few months.
