Curious Tiger
I shot the above picture at the Bannerghatta National Park. Though the tiger looks like a wild one, its a captive animal, which has been rescued from some circus somewhere. There’s a mad rush to see them as everyone in this country is infatuated with tigers. People come in hundreds everyday to go on the safari just to see the wild cat. Even in the wild forests, everyone wants to see the tiger and nothing else. It turns into this really distasteful circus.
The people that have the best time are the ones that are just as happy seeing birds, deer, and the web of life. Their day isn’t a failure if they donβt see a tiger. If you take that attitude, you can have a great time.
*clap clap clap*
awesome pic!!!
yes…the tiger does look rather curious!
and maybe this saturday i’ll make it to the national park too!!!
Re: *clap clap clap*
Agreed, and agreed. I want to come too!
Awesome pic.
Agreed!
I am done by this pic, *My day will not be a failure if I do not see this tiger*, don’t have to go to the park to see him now. Thanks, Kalyan!
The tigers do look sad, especially this one.
Kallu , now there is hope that we can shoot the tiger in the “Wild” with Veerappan gone , access to Bandipur and Nagarhole might not be as restricted as it used to be. Let me know when you are going π .
Yep.. it was kinda sad to see them , but when you think about it, they are better off here then in a circus or in a zoo. And these cannot be let back into the wild either.
Btw bornfree is working on this. Check this out : http://www.bornfree.org.uk/big.cat/indiadiary001.shtml
Its yathin who was really scared about verappan. He really would not have gotten much by kidnapping me really.. his targets are film acters π

Heh yeah.. the lighting was perfect and the tiger was curious about the van that we were in. Infact I shot this through a dirty glass window.. thats why you see these 2 faint stripes at the bottom of the picture.
Re: *clap clap clap*

This was the exact thought that occured to me when I heard the news. All of a sudden I realised it wouldnt make much of a difference for me since Im not in college anymore.

Re: *clap clap clap*
Me neither and if Dushera is anything like Gandhi Jayanthi, almost everyone I know will be skipping town… so if you have an extra seat let me know!(ie., if I’m not going to be intruding)
Re: Agreed!
you have the auroras. what are you cribbing about ?
So near yet so far!
Northern Lights can be seen at ‘Kiruna’ in Sweden and from where I live, it is further 300 Kms, although sometimes we do get something good but the climate’s not been friendly as of now. Rest, if I post something from the internet, you ppl can do it better than me, I guess. Shall try for some first-hand though. Keep peeping!.
Excellent pic
This is really a great pic. Neat shot.
