Which one scares you more?
Found this on someone’s mail signature :
“…justice is a duty towards those whom you love and those whom you do
not. And people’s rights will not be harmed if the opponent speaks out
about them.”
– Osama Bin Laden
“There aught to be limits to freedom!”
– George Bush
Which one scares you more?
There aught to be nuthing scarier than George Dubya Bush! It looks like you’ve quoted him out of context, though.
The former
I find it much more disconcerting that a psychopath can rationalize killing 3000 civilians as consistent with “justice” and the claim that “people’s rights will not be harmed”.
And the Bush quote (it’s “ought” incidentally) is taken totally out of context (like Gore’s alleged claim that he created the internet). It was said in 1999 in reference to libel (which is a valid restriction on free speech in the US and UK).
Man, what a troll.
All of the above. And the rest too.
George Bush scarier. Hands down.
Dubya.
& then Osama
Re: The former

You must be new to's LJ.
Re: The former
Yeah, but if it’s a quote, I assume he cited it from somewhere.
The exclamation point is another oddity.
And in other news….
All casualities in the ~3 year long war against terror have been terrorists… not a single ciivilian has been touched/scratched/wounded/killed.
The latter one
George W. sucks
Depends on the situation.
Re: And in other news….
But that’s not the quote, is it?
Both suck in their own ways….
Re: And in other news….
There were so many people who were shot dead in front of the entire population because they were opponents and they spoke out..
whats the point in making that statement..
Agreed. And they r not the last of their kind in this world.
Re: The former
aught is acceptable as well.
Re: And in other news….
Does a quote speak louder than an action?
Re: And in other news….
There is nothing “surprising” about a psychopath killing people!
But how do you explain someone “civilized” killing thousands of people in the name of liberty and freedom and claiming that the killing of innocent people half way across the globe has somehow improved “homeland security”.
IAC the US lost the war on terror the day they started telling americans how scared they should be…
“The conventional army loses if it does not win. The guerrilla wins if he does not lose.” — Henry Kissinger
Re: And in other news….
Word for the day
Re: The former
Heh.
:))
Re: The former
My entire post was a cut-copy-paste from the original email 😉
Re: The former
As a replacement for “ought” anyplace other than on a scrabble board ?
Dictionary.com seems to differ!
Re: The former
oh yes I see it has a different meaning altogether aught that is.
Re: And in other news….
And, once again, that’s off-topic.
I was talking about the quotes themselves.
You don’t like Bush? That’s nice.
Re: And in other news….
No, but the quote is what’s on-topic.
Hey! Let’s talk about how I had Afghan food for lunch yesterday … since bin Laden is (was?) in Afghanistan.
Re: The former
You’re right.
Re: And in other news….

Not many people like bush you know 🙂
