Venus over Sun

70mm – ISO 200 – f/4.5 – 1/1000sec

Took the picture using a black polymer sun-filter which is used to normal viewing. Could not zoom in and take the pic coz of the small size of the filter (1x1cm). And NO, this is not a photoshop/gimp trick

indeed.. I wish I had 2 polarizer filters but heck.. managed it with this filter.. though I had to build a custom cardboard around it to fit on the lens.

    *Great* work, but…

..there seems to be some dirt on the lens, not too much to the left of the center of the lens. :p

Maybe your camera doesn’t like astronomical bodies? To verify, go around taking pictures of what heavenly bodies you can find on Earth. I shall examine them all closely and tell you if this is the case.

Ah, what I wouldn’t do in the name of science.

    Re: *Great* work, but…

Wait, we’re running from Kallu? Hahaha, tag-team time!

I’ll spray the floor with my amazing saliva-generating abilities. When he slips and falls, you can sit on him!

    >:D

  36. achitnis · June 8, 2004 Reply

    Re: *Great* work, but…

You dont need to generate any saliva – Kallu is fully capable of slipping and falling all on his own, without any help.

  37. louiswu · June 8, 2004 Reply

    Re: *Great* work, but…

As rolls on the floor laughing, trips over him and falls on the floor, not dislocating *anything* if even for a fraction of a second. By some unlikely set of circumstances, ends up sitting on him. Kalyan screams in agony.

After a few minutes’ worth of embarassed silence, we all go home.

  38. achitnis · June 8, 2004 Reply

    Re: *Great* work, but…

If I sit on Kallu, he won’t scream in agony. He won’t make a sound. Except a mild, crackling one. Sort of like splintering bamboo.

    Re: *Great* work, but…

    That was graphic. 😀

I wonder which one of us he’ll kill first when he reads this thread. 10 bucks says it’s you. Kalyan, kill him first, I’ll give you 10 bucks!

And he also knows that you dont have 10 bucks.

You better start running again 😉

    Like this….

I used a filter called Pixelate -> Mosaic in Adobe Photoshop 7.0, created 4 images with different cell sizes, imported them into Adobe ImageReady 7.0 as frames and saved it as a gif.

    😀

Wont it churn out COLORED images ? Does color loss occur ?

  48. mona1610 · June 9, 2004 Reply

yup.. sort like wats already mentioned. Just that I use GiMP 2 mostly. So u pick an image > Filters > Blur > Pixelize. Copy paste as layers (don’t merge them tho’) and save the gif as animation.

As always, color gets affected when saving as gif.

  49. kaustubhhere · June 9, 2004 Reply

    Re: Like this….

Nope, there is no color loss, it will work with color images as well as it does with grayscale, I just converted it to grayscale because ‘s userpic was the same and I was using that as a reference.
