Gala Weekend
Saturday :
One of my friend here, Elliot called me over to his place. So I head there.. and then he says we should check out the ocean. So we go in his convertible and man o man what a ride it was. He drove though the red woods here.. and it was the best ride of my life. Soon we reached the ocean and hit the famous California 1 highway. From there we drove south towards santa cruz. While getting there.. the drive was simple superb. Ocean on one side and mountains on the other end. And to top it all he has gotten 3 cd’s of ‘The Doors’. Imagine.. amazing drive.. no roof on the car.. and jim morrison singing..’raiders on the storm’. just wow.
So somewhere in the drive.. the things around me started to look familiar.. it was like deja vu. Then it hit me.. this was the road that’s there in the game NFS, and on which I have driven on many times in the game. I even saw a ramp.. and I remembered hitting that ramp many times.
We hit Santa Cruz, where I tried out oysters for the 1st time in my life.. they were raw and uncooked. It looked yucky but it tasted ok. Then we headed to a sushi place.
and man it sucks. Its raw everything and I almost felt like puking after having the caviar sushi. I’m never gonna touch sushi again in my life 🙂
Today :
Went to stanford university. most of the place was empty being a sunday.. but the place is really really huge. raghotham and bhatta , thanks a ton man.. for showing me around.
I’m on dial-up from home. Will put up the pics from office tomorrow.
sushi blues
sushi, and evil tasting seafood is available at the FTV bar (same hotel as insomnia)
Picos pub serves stuff like mussels.
Raw fish yuck! i hated it , the wasabi sauce was not so appetising either.
Also got an allergic reaction to something probably shrimp.
For the first few times you eat any exotic new seafood
remember to carry some antihistamines along.
Re: sushi blues
tell me about it.
the wasabi sauce actually tasted worse then the sushi.. it tasted like some acid.. and I dont know how people can eat this 3 times a day. I guess people say the same thing about our spicy indian food 😉
