Getting ready

This is so damn hectic.

I realized I have to wear shoes there, coz the weather is cold there in SF. Now I dont have a pair of shoes and it practically took me the whole day to find a pair of shoes that fit me ( size 12 ). I dont have too much choice, I just buy a shoe if I can find my store. I tried Adidas, Nike and rebook showrooms, no luck what do ever. They dont even have a single size 12 shoe. Finally got one fake addidas shoe in one of the road size shops.

Still shit loads of stuff to be finished.. too little time. I totally forgot about powell‘s treat. I dont think I can make it on time there. My driving license is torn in pieces, and I dont know if I can really use it there. I’m planning on taking a car on hire for a month. I’ll have the freedom to drive around in the whole of California. I wish I had taken that jazzy looking cards as my driving license.

I was told I’ll be staying in some apartments there. But today I realized I’ll be staying at the Fair Oaks West. Looks like my trip will be nice after all. I just might be able to burn out the fat on my body here.

now back to work …

We should start an association for the humane treatment of size 12ers!

    We should demand equal rights

Funny. I consistently find large Reeboks. And very comfy ones at that. Mine is a US12/UK11, but I’ve seen larger ones.

Size 12 shoes… you could have got them here itself. Lots of choice. And yeah, your size 12 should be size 11 here.

Trick to be safe with cold here is to wear layered clothes. Same goes with shoes too. Wear good socks to start with.

hmm.. will check it out… how much do they cost there anyway ?

    Aye. Yeah. Yes.

At least the more expensive Nikes, Reeboks and Adidases are available…. but the worst of them all is when I tried buying floaters from Bata.

    They stop at Size NINE.

I have to shell out Rs. 1800/- or so from Reebok if I want decent ones now. Sucks.

    Dude,
even when I wanted to shell out money.. I could not find my size…I got so bugged… I just asked him..
“forget price… forget models.. just show me everything that you’ve got in size 12” 😉

    That bad?

I got a fantastic Rs. 800/- deal of a pair of beautiful Nikes in Mumbai; but Bangalore isn’t Mumbai, so I won’t talk about it.

Anyway, here are probably the places to go –

    1. Marthahalli
    2. The place next to college
    3. Brigade Road…. the one next to Coffee Day…… I saw some fantastic (read: fantastically expensive) size 12s there not so long ago.

Anyway, when doest thou step on the aeroplane?

dude…dont think u’ll have the time to burn fat at fair oaks 😉

and even if you do, there’s a kick ass gym on campus.

It, depends. I’ve seen branded stuff as low as $35 and highest has no limits.

The logic behind pricing items here is different. Sell as much quantity as you can when the item is new, later on (maybe even just a month after the launch) reduce it (even upto 60%) to sell off the rest.

So you really cant say for sure how much you’ll get a good shoe for. I got a really good watch (branded BURN) for $9.99 originally priced at $49. And this too with bill, blah everything.

So when you come here, explore well and then buy.
