Indian Pitta

The Indian Pitta breeds in the Himalayas and north east India and winters in South India. I photographed this one at the camp at Thattekad. Somehow this bird thought we were there to feed it, so it kept on hopping towards us. Eventually it was so close, my lens could not focus as it was in the min-focussing distance, and I just had to sit and admire the lovely bird
