The Brain Fever bird is very appropriately named. It's a cuckoo that appears in spring, and calls all night for months on end, with a song that is guaranteed to drive you crazy. It's a kind of relentless whirring noise, repeated every minute or so, that sounds like a cross between a dentist's drill and an alarm clock.
