and then there were the relatives

Few of my relatives landed up here last night. As usual.. that threw my Sunday out of gear. Had to drive around Bangalore and show them things. This was their 1st time here, so had to show the usual *sight seeing* places. I even might have to drive them to Mysore. Atleast this is the one set of relatives ( maybe the ones ones ) that I really spending time with. My aunt also got me tons of my fav yummy sweets… wish I had more space in my stomach.

Weekend Hacking

Spent the whole of yesterday reading up on algorithm’s and trying to come up with new ones. I guess, things would have been a lot easier if I had done CS ( having issues understanding the most elementry stuff ), but heck, learning is always fun.. and thats exactly what I’ve been doing. Also got a taste of C++ and its speed. My perl program was crunching about 10k lines per second. The same exact algorithm in C++ was crunching about 60-70k lines per second. Now thats something.. ( but its 1000 times more easier to work on an algo…

Life Rulez

I got a brand new project. Its basically Data mining + Algo’s. Good stuff. ( Did I mention Perl Rulez ; ) Its so damn addictive.. Have been working for almost 15 hours straight.. and I can go on like this.. expect for the fact that I’m hungry now and need something to eat fast. ( only place where i can find food at this time of the day is at home ).

According to a new survey, women say they feel more comfortable undressing in front of men than they do undressing in front of other women. They say that women are too judgmental, whereas, of course, men are just grateful

Coffee == Nirvana

Its been 2 disappointing , lazy days. Work is not going well… Have to work on something that I dont like working on anymore. (but still have to finish it ). No matter what people say, I still think writing something from scratch is much better then taking an existing engine and trying to make it work for you. Been watching tons of South Park Video’s that nandu has been downloading, few of them are really nice.

2002 ( Personal life)

Its been one hell of a ride. It was very tough to let go of people with whom I had spent 4 years with. but thats how life is I guess… but anyhow I’ve managed to meet some amazing set of people in this one year. 1st of all , my work place. It almost feels like a class room. Most of the people are less then below 24 .and it feels great to work with them. The office is also split up like the 1st bench / last bench thingy. I as always belong to the last bench janta…..

2002

This is my 1st year out of college… I miss college a lot.. but I still manage to have the college fun here and there. Most of my close friends have left bangalore for higher studies.. and many more are leaving soon.. makes me wonder, why I’m sitting all alone here in blr and working. but heck.. I am enjoying what I’m doing. This is also the year, where I moved from being a sysadmin to a developer. Since my college days.. I’ve always been a sysadmin.. and the last bit of programming that I had done was in my…

Just watched Shawshank Redemption for the 10th time, and I still love it. One of my fav quotes from the movie : “I have no idea to this day what those two Italian ladies were singing about. Truth is, I don’t want to know. Some things are better left unsaid. I’d like to think they were singing about something so beautiful, it can’t expressed in words, and it makes your heart ache because of it. I tell you, those voices soared higher and farther than anybody in a grey place dares to dream. It was as if some beautiful bird…
