Some people are just never happy with what they have. For them the grass is always greener on the other side… no matter what side they are on

“Flash mobs”, where people “voluntarily and simultaneously converge” to “partake in a silly and harmless activity” prompts a thought; isn’t this the elements of a DOS attack? http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/internet/08/04/flash.mob/index.html
Well it seems today is World Friendship day, and I’ve been bombarded with sms messages and ecards since morning. This really annoys me. 1. If you are a friend and and care about me, then do call and speak. I’d appreciate that. Don’t just forward the same sms with funky picture on it to everyone. I feel you are just showing off your sms ascii art skills. 2. If you have to send via email, then just send a 2 liner mail (Its more appreciated then those damn Ecards) . And *Don’t* sent an Ecard to a mailing list. If…

Finally have 24×7 Internet access at home via 24online. Speeds are not all that good, but surely beats dial-up. Also I’m in a scheme with unlimited usage. Its was only 200 bucks more then the 500MB/month limit. Quite an easy setup too. I have a CAT6 cable pulled upto top of my place and a CAT5 from there to my machine. All I need a network card to hook on to the ISP. Only issue is, I have to use a client to connect. Without using the client, the router does not let any of the packets from my machine…

( which in this case was just a bad lazy and ugly hack )
Loads and loads of stuff happening in my life and around me and I just cant seem to keep up with them. abiligiri, who used to work with me, moved to another group this week. Now its time to find a replacement and I have no idea how to do so. Though anand agreed to help me with stuff till I find a replacement , he will have other work. Two folks from japan had come down this week to get trained and understand some security stuff. Well all went well, except for food. For 3 days I had to…

SCO has gone a bit too far this time. FUD, FUD and more FUD Bad enough they go after IBM and other linux vendors , now its the Linux users. They want licensing fees from every linux user and if you are a company you are forced to buy SCO UnixWare licenses , which allows to use unlimited linux within your company. Quoting the CEO from eweek : “With more than 2.4 million Linux servers running our software, and thousands more running Linux every day, we expect SCO to be compensated for the benefits realized by tens of thousands of…
