After months of planning and waiting it is finally happening. Though its not a long one, but this will be my first vacation this year. Planning to hit Goa this weekend and maybe will try to skip few days early next week and hang out there 🙂

I moved to my new office on MG road this week. Because of some legal shit , we are not allowed to take out old machines. So it was that time of the year when I start with fresh BSD install, then download wmaker/fetchmail/galeon etc etc. Have done it after a long time and finally things are falling in place. Got my new Compaq N610c today. Its been almost 3 weeks since I’ve actually updated my blog. Lets see… My new office inauguration finally happened. Lot of press about it all over. I should be physically moving to the new office sometime next weekend. Next weekend is also the time I’ll be getting my new laptop 🙂 Had a mini-vacation last week. To fight the effects of the nachi worm ( the worm that was created to fix the Blaster worm ), VSNL ( India’s largest ISP, which also controls the India’s international gateway) completely disabled ICMP on its routers. So no more ping from outside world coming into India. *sigh*

Looks like a worm based on the recent windows RPC exploit is slowly infecting the windows hosts on the net. In the past hour, there has been a lot of traffic and random machine reboots ( of even machines that are not even connected directly to the net, but inside a LAN – a sure sign of a worm). If you are sysadmin please block ports 135/139/445 and 4444 ( the worm executes commands remotely via this port ) at your router. Yes, its that time of the year again, when my office does not have space for more people. So once again we are moving to a new, BIGGER place. When we moved to the existing office last year, we were 30 people. Now I think we are close to 130 people and still growing. Apparently the new office can hold upto 400 people.
