2003 -> 2004

Happy new year one and all 2003 has been a very eventful year. I went through few of the highest and lowest points of my life’s and few things have made me change my point of view about loads of things. The coming year will be one hell of a ride.. loads of changes in my life… time to plan my future and not to forget , lose weight 🙂

Year end party

Last night my office year end party happened. The venue was club cabana and I jumped into the pool as soon as I landed there ( about 3pm). Had loads of activities and loads of awards. congrats and smokediceman for winning the best employee award. There were bunch of informal awards as well, in which I managed to win highest number of awards. I won nocturnal employee and Most eligible employee ( I have no clue how I managed to win this ). The prizes for each of them were very funny. I won the book “Nudist in the night…

Saddam captured , Bush : “what do I say now ?”

I think I just heard one of the Worst speech ever given by an American president. Bush can’t talk for nuts. He was going too fast for the text scrolling in front of him, so he would pause after everyline, wait for the text to scroll and meanwhile look like a total idiot. And the lines were straight out of some war movie.( Ofcouse I presume the guy who wrote the script watched too many movies).

Breaking into your own car

Second time this week, I have left my keys inside the car and locked myself out. To make matters worse ( maybe its a good thing ) my car ( 800) cannot be broken into using the regular “Slide a metal ruler” method. Last time I actually went back home to get the spare keys. Today I had to get a locksmith to get it open. Its pretty amazing. His tool was just a simple thin metal wire. While he was breaking into my car, I has a small chat with him and he said he could make a duplicate…

Linux-Bangalore/2003 : Day 2

Got lot more time today then yesterday. I actually managed to attend few of the talks and believe it or not I eventually ended up giving my talk. Jeremy’s talk was really wonderful. Slides were well structured and his ‘example for every bullet’ was amazing. I bailed out after his talk and was hanging around the stall for a while. Rasmus meanwhile let me borrow one of his many wifi cards and helped me get online. I can’t believe how sloppy I am with linux now. I had to use his help in compiling the modules ( which did not…

Linux-Bangalore/2003 : Day 1

Thanks to my company stall, I couldn’t attend any of the talks today. Was at the stall most of the time and when I did have free time, I could not enter any of the halls. They were just too packed ( and this year even the 800 seater audi was packed too ). Met tons of old people whom I have not met in years ( Classmates, ex-LUG members , linux-india folks etc.) and tons of people whom I’ve only met online ( LJ users : mannu, teemus,fox2mike, bluesmoon ) There was a mini foo camp kinda thingy in…
