Its been almost 3 weeks since I’ve actually updated my blog. Lets see… My new office inauguration finally happened. Lot of press about it all over. I should be physically moving to the new office sometime next weekend. Next weekend is also the time I’ll be getting my new laptop 🙂 Had a mini-vacation last week. Those who should know, already know what it was 😉 After all that ,work took its toll on me this week. Though caught up with it just before the weekend started. and now I am going to have a looooooooooooooong lazy nap.

To fight the effects of the nachi worm ( the worm that was created to fix the Blaster worm ), VSNL ( India’s largest ISP, which also controls the India’s international gateway) completely disabled ICMP on its routers. So no more ping from outside world coming into India. *sigh*

Looks like a worm based on the recent windows RPC exploit is slowly infecting the windows hosts on the net. In the past hour, there has been a lot of traffic and random machine reboots ( of even machines that are not even connected directly to the net, but inside a LAN – a sure sign of a worm). If you are sysadmin please block ports 135/139/445 and 4444 ( the worm executes commands remotely via this port ) at your router. Yes, its that time of the year again, when my office does not have space for more people. So once again we are moving to a new, BIGGER place. When we moved to the existing office last year, we were 30 people. Now I think we are close to 130 people and still growing. Apparently the new office can hold upto 400 people.
