Outsourcing == More Holidays

Tomorrow is Memorial Day in the US and its a national holiday there. Since no one in the US will turn up for work, this means holiday for all the people in India who work/support for the US companies from here. Ofcourse we indians still get holidays for all the local festivals. I, for one, plan to chill out and take-it-easy tomorrow ๐Ÿ™‚

Rainbow weekend

Yesterday’s Monaco F1 race has been one of best I’ve seen in a very long time. Not because Michael Schumacher crashed up, but the race itself was spectacular. Someday when I’m rich, I *will* attend the monaco GP. Good relaxing weekend. Did not touch work at all and spent my time either with the camera or the TV. Nothing like watching some old episodes of South Park. The weather was very smoothing to make things perfect. Third day of monsoon in Bangalore

Micropayments are still a Pain in the Ass!

All this while, I was under the impression that someone figured out a decent way to do micropayments online. Well, I was wrong. I see the paypal “Donate now” buttons on many blogs and thought paypal offered a decent micropayment system. When I finally got the first buck, paypal said it needs 30ยข for the Credit card transaction and it will also change me 2% of the amount. So I finally got 0.67ยข in hand. Now that’s insane. I am not going to pay paypal 33% of the money I make. What are the alternatives ? Amazon’s honor system :…

Wash out

The rain never stopped and when it did, the clouds refused to give way. Somewhere around 3am, the rain stopped for a while and I managed to capture this after doing a quick splash & dash to my terrace. The rain resumed after 10 min so this is all I could manage. Cloudy lunar eclipse Enough pics for this week. Now back to work.

Lazy long weekend

What is the best way to spend a long weekend ? Doing absolutely nothing of course. Caught up with sleep, mails , food, TV, friends, clubbing (note: spinn sucks) and other personal engagements. The non-stop heavy rain today has been amazing. Cooled down bangalore by couple of degrees and had an extremely relaxing time on my terrace. This however throws away my plans of shooting the lunar eclipse tomorrow. In other news, my T610 reception totally sucks. Almost every call gets cut in the middle or I cannot hear what the other person is saying. Time for an exchange. ๐Ÿ™…

Shooting the heavens

There is a going to be a Full lunar eclipse on May 4th (tue night – wed morning) on this side of the world, and as you might have guessed, I am looking forward to shoot the different stages of the moon. The moon with be a white dot with my current 18-70mm lens. I will need a pretty powerful lens. One kind soul at work has agreed to lend me his 70-300mm nikon lens. If any of you have a 300mm prime lens or a 300-xxxmm range nikon lens and if you are willing to lend it to me…

South Indian Weddings

I see this in almost all the south indian weddings/receptions. You along with your family or friends are made to stand on either side of the bride and groom, and then what do they do ? Take a video of everyone standing there for a min and everyone staring at the camera ( not to mention the bright light that blinds you). I don’t understand the logic at all. I was at a wedding today and yes they had 3 people shooting us using a video camera for what should be a photoshoot.
