Great Hornbill Scape
I have always wanted to photograph hornbills with the rainforest canopy in which they live in. I am in general a fan of animal in its habitat kinda photography and yesterday I was lucky enough to photograph this in Anamalais tiger reserve.
There were two of them and they kept on hopping from one tree to another. Because of the rains and the clouds, the light was very low and this is one of the sharpest photograph that I could actually manage. Frankly did not expect to see too many Great Hornbills during the monsoons, but wildlife always throws those surprises at you.
Lovely. Waiting for more pics from Valparai π
Beautiful shot. It seems you are atop the highest tree and looking down at the Hornbills to click their shots.
Beauty… did you get to see any LTMs in Valparai ? How is Divya n the NCF team doing π ?
Bery Bery nice. π TFS
Very Nice, How could you manage to get so much light?
@Adarsh It was in the middle of the day, so the light was good enough.. but just about good enough as lot of the other shots has bit of a blur in the hornbill or in the landscape.
Amazing shot…have the same question as Adarsh..
Beautiful shot. Hoping to see much more. π
Good one… Wish I had joined the trip and am eagerly waiting for more pictures..

What is the lens used 500mm?
It was from the top of a hill and I had used the nikon 200-400mm lens. One of my fav hornbill shots π
Was this photo taken at ‘Seen God’ by any chance?
Very much prashanth. Have been hoping to see there since then, but never managed π
Some guys have all the luck! Eventhough I live here I haven’t seen them there even once.
