The Great Argus Argusianus argus is the largest pheasant in the world. Here, the male guards its lek or a dancing ground in a cleaned opening in the rainforests of Danum Valley. The male calls and displays to attract the females. It is thus named due to the 1000 eye-like spots that are displayed when it fans its tail during the courtship dance.
